Every citizen in India already has a direct, official channel to the Prime Minister's office, the President's Secretariat, and their own state government, free, with no agent or middleman required. Most people simply don't know these exist.

cmhelpline.mp.gov.inHow to actually use these channels
Knowing a portal exists is only half of it. Here's how to use one without it going nowhere.
File an RTI online (central government)
Go to rtionline.gov.in, the Central Government's official RTI portal. Register, write your question clearly and specifically, pay the ₹10 fee online (UPI, card, or netbanking), and submit. You'll get a registration number to track it. The Public Information Officer must respond within 30 days. State government departments have their own separate RTI portals, search for your state name plus 'RTI online' to find it.
Log a municipal complaint
Most Indian cities now have a dedicated municipal corporation app or portal (search '[your city] municipal corporation complaint portal'), and many are also integrated into CPGRAMS. Include a clear description, the exact location, and a photo if possible. Keep the complaint number you're given, it's what lets you follow up.
Report a public utility issue
For electricity, water, or sanitation problems, your local utility board usually has its own complaint number and app (check your last bill for the contact details). If it goes unresolved, the same issue can be escalated through CPGRAMS or your state grievance portal below.
Escalate if nothing happens
If a genuine grievance gets no response within a reasonable time (30 days is standard for RTI, varies for other complaints), most portals include a first appeal or escalation step. Use it. A followed-up complaint is far more likely to get resolved than a first complaint left alone.
HelpIndiaBreathe does not operate any of these portals and cannot submit or track a grievance on your behalf. These are official government channels, used directly. Want to know your rights when a hospital, police officer, or landlord doesn't cooperate? See Know Your Rights.
