80G & Tax Exemption
Last updated: 25 July 2026
Current status: registration in progress. HelpIndiaBreathe's 80G tax-exemption registration is being finalized. We do not display an 80G tag on any campaign until it is officially confirmed — we'd rather be accurate than premature.
What 80G means
Under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act, donations to eligible registered organizations can qualify the donor for a partial tax deduction. It requires the receiving organization to hold valid 80G registration with the Income Tax Department, and to issue donors a compliant donation receipt.
Where this stands today
HelpIndiaBreathe evolved from an unregistered volunteer relief effort (TFL, then Help India Breathe) into a formal platform. Formal registration — including 80G — is an active, in-progress step, not yet complete. This page, and every campaign's tax-exemption tag, will be updated the moment registration is confirmed.
What this means for your donation today
Your donation still reaches the campaign in full — the 0% platform fee guarantee applies regardless of tax-exemption status. It simply means a tax deduction receipt isn't available yet.
